Circet Belgium: Q2 2024 in figures

Our growth ambitions compared to last year were high. However, the wet spring played tricks on us and getting permits took longer than usual. We continue to feel that in the results.

“With 83 million euros in turnover, we were certainly not in a bad position at the end of Q2,” emphasises Finance Director Pieter Aerts. “We also performed 6% better than in the same quarter last year. Yet, we didn’t meet our target.”

The explanation? Fiber Build takes up the largest share of our turnover pie and we were struggling with delays. Pieter: “However, other activities are becoming increasingly important. For example, energy experienced a marked increase since the beginning of last year.”

What does the future look like?

“The future is bright,” predicts Head of Sales & Marketing Stijn Baert. “We recently won a number of great deals for Ericsson and Nokia, Eurofiber and Unifiber. And there are more great prospects and contracts in our sales funnel.” In particular, he is referring to the broadening of domains such as energy, water and mobility. “Exploring new markets will continue to be crucial for Circet Belgium in the coming years. Marketing will be used to fully support our sales team in this effort.”

How is Circet Belgium doing within the group?

The Circet Group operates in 13 countries on 3 different continents, with a total workforce of more than 17,000 people. CFO Gert De Win looks back at 2023: “The entire group achieved a turnover of 4.18 billion euros last year. Sales have been growing continuously since 2014. France achieved the highest turnover, followed by the UK & Ireland, and Italy – which is growing spectacularly. Circet Benelux comes in 4th place.”

“Our group is also on the acquisition trail,” adds Gert. “It’s nice to see that we don’t limit ourselves to telecom acquisitions. We are expanding our portfolio to include energy and data centers. For example, in France we acquired a solar panel company and in the UK a data center player. At Circet Benelux, too, we will continue to focus on the fibre roll-out, the energy transition, e-mobility and connecting customers.”
