Kudos to our entire organisation! We recently achieved three ISO certifications. These labels confirm that we are doing a good job when it comes to quality, environment and safety. QHSE Manager Rudi Calcoen describes the actions taken by Circet.
What's that exactly, an ISO-certification? And why is it important?✅ ISO certification indicates that a company meets certain standards and benchmarks in terms of quality, energy management, corporate social responsibility, occupational health... ✅ In order to achieve ISO certification, an organisation must have followed a thorough procedure and met strict requirements. ✅ For an organisation, obtaining such an ISO label is an acknowledgement that it is doing a good job in one of these areas. To (prospective) clients especially, it shows that we take our work seriously. |
👉 Which measures did we take?
Rudi: “ISO certification is not something you get without effort. Our QHSE advisors attended training courses to learn the requirements attached to the three labels. They then mapped out internal processes in order to improve them in collaboration with the colleagues involved. Finally, they accompanied the external ISO auditors who vetted us.”
👉 What do the three labels we obtained actually mean?
Rudi: “ISO 9001 means that we have one goal throughout the company: quality. And this in terms of service, procedures and the products we work with. Take tidying up one’s tools and materials after an installation, for example.”
“The same quality philosophy can be extended to ISO 14001, the ISO label for environmental management. With regard to mobility, for example, we focus on an eco-conscious driving style, electric cars and pilot projects with electric cargo bicycles. Energy is another important pillar of ISO 14001. That is why we are increasingly opting for green energy and setting timers on heating systems. Recycling is a final effort concerning the environment. For example, we have recently started reusing our cable reels – the large cylinders used to wind cables.”
“All of us together, we must continue to set the bar high. This is how we will improve our services and processes and remain worthy of these certifications.”
“And finally, the ISO 45001 standard which revolves around safety. Of course, at Circet we have always emphasised working safely, in terms of methods, procedures and equipment. This includes regular inspections of our tools. And we check that all safety instructions are clear to everyone.”
👉 How do we ensure continued compliance with ISO standard?
Rudi: “All of us together, we must continue to set the bar high. This is how we will improve our services and processes and remain worthy of these certifications.”
“Achieving and maintaining these quality labels is teamwork. That’s why we set up an internal audit team. These colleagues check whether we are still working in accordance with the prescribed ISO standard. If not, they make a plan to improve our work. These optimisations are then incorporated into training and procedures. This makes sure everyone is and remains involved in the qualitative way of working.”
