Together against water wastage at work

Worldwide, 36 countries are facing extreme water shortages, according to the UNICEF report ‘Thirsting for a Future’. Cape Town, South Africa’s capital, narrowly escaped ‘day zero’ last year: that’s the day when not a drop of water comes out of the tap. Belgium, too, is increasingly confronted with periods of drought. Using water sparingly is therefore also important to us.

Some tips to save water at work

At Circet, our aim is to achieve ISO14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management. Responsible water management is a crucial component of this process. In our Kontich offices, we already installed automatic water-saving taps with infrared sensors and low-flow toilets. It will be the turn of our other sites later this year.

Apart from that, we can all help prevent water wastage:

  • Do not leave the tap running unnecessarily when you wash your hands after going to the toilet or before eating.
  • If you spot a dripping tap, a toilet that keeps running or another water leak, report it immediately to our Facility department at facility@circet.be.
