Circet Benelux donates 100 laptops to Digital for Youth for digital inclusion

At Circet Benelux, we understand how crucial digital connectivity is. Our industry revolves around building and maintaining networks that connect people. But what if young people don’t even have access to a laptop to develop themselves in this increasingly digital world? That’s exactly why we have donated 100 decommissioned but perfectly usable laptops to Digital for Youth.

Digital for Youth has been working for years to bridge the digital divide for young people aged 6 to 25 in Belgium. Through their network of schools and social organizations, these laptops are given a second life with those who need them most. Together, we ensure that technology is not a barrier but a stepping stone to the future.

From infrastructure to impact

At Circet, we build the networks of tomorrow, but we believe it is just as important to ensure that everyone has access to them. "Decommissioning our laptops doesn’t mean they’re useless for young people who can still use them perfectly for their studies and digital skills," says Sandra Almeida Neves, ICT Administrative Coordinator at Circet Benelux. "By giving them a second life through Digital for Youth, we are not only contributing to digital inclusion but also promoting sustainability through reuse."

More than just hardware

For Digital for Youth, the impact of this donation is significant. "On average, one laptop reaches 6.8 young people," says Barbara De Weyer, Strategic Partnerships Director at Digital for Youth. "This means that Circet Benelux's donation will provide more than 600 additional young people with access to a laptop. For them, this makes a huge difference, as digital skills are no longer optional—they are essential for education and employment."

"Thanks to partners like Circet, young people can shape their future—whether through online classes, homework support, or digital workshops. Moreover, this donation contributes to the circular economy: less electronic waste and a more sustainable use of IT resources."
