2026: a transitional year marked by discipline

We dubbed 2025 the Year of Discipline. By continuously raising the bar and working even more professionally, we can grow sustainably. According to Bavo and Gert, discipline will remain crucial for many years to come.

Growing with the right mindset

“We have big ambitions for the energy market,” explains our CEO Bavo De Cock. “We want to become the new leader in Energy. Yet, we must realise that we are still ‘the new kid on the block’. We need to prove ourselves at many levels, so it’s important to act with humility.”

“At the same time, we must continue to defend our strong position in Telecom,” Bavo continues. “If you’re number one, you can only lose. We are a champion in Europe, and must hold on to that position.”

Discipline remains crucial in the case of acquisitions as well. Bavo: “There were many acquisitions last year, but not in Belgium. It was difficult not to buy, but we only wanted to acquire the right companies. This means that we look beyond the figures. We want the organisations joining the Circet family to share our entrepreneurial mindset. We don’t just want to be the biggest; Circet stands for quality and sustainable growth.”

Stricter reporting and contract management

“We have to ensure that our work is always invoiced and that we get paid for it afterwards,” our CFO Gert De Win chimes in. “Generating sufficient and healthy cash flow is becoming even more important. That is also why the reporting standards will be further tightened: reporting deadlines will become stricter in 2026."

Our growth on the energy market also entails a different way of working, Gert emphasises. “In Energy, contract management is more rigorous. In Telecom, we often manage our client relationships more. This also means that we need to keep a close eye on extra work. Additional work must be reported, otherwise we'll face revenue leakage.”

Strict compliance with regulations

As a larger company, we are subject to increased scrutiny. Gert: "Authorities are well acquainted with us by now, and we are therefore constantly being audited. This requires focus on compliance on our part, and from our partners and subcontractors as well. We must ensure that our subcontractors comply with the regulations. It remains our responsibility."

Discipline will therefore remain the keyword in the coming years as well, concludes Gert: “Cash is the king and discipline the queen.”
