Images are subject to copyright which protects the creator of a work. A creator (photographer, artist) has the right to determine how, where and when his or her work is used.
So, the rule is simple: images from the internet are protected by copyright and you cannot simply use them in your PowerPoint presentation. The fact that your presentation is for internal use only makes no difference.
How should you go about it to avoid infringement?
- Always mention the source – the place where you found the image.
- Search databases with images that are entirely copyright-free, or under certain conditions. For example: Pexels, Creative Commons, Pixabay.com, Unsplash.com and Reshot.com.
